I ordered this product only for the alarm. I wanted an alarm that could play my ipod touch, charge it, and not have a way too bright display. the display has a setting 0 to 9, with 9 being super bright. I really like this alarm clock because it’s easy to use and the sound quality is good. I’m not sure what to make of the bed shaker yet. I don’t know if I like it or not, because it annoys me a bit but that’s it’s job so it wakes me up. the only thing i was disappointed with, was it was smaller than I imagined. Not super small but smaller than I expected. I think this is good for teenagers like me who have trouble waking up because the bedshaker combined with the music or buzzing gets the job done!

Cute and looks well made but that alarm . . . . yikes. Says something like “Sooooo Sweet, Soooooo Delicious” LOUDLY in a child’s voice. My daughter loves it though even though the hubby and I cringe every time we hear it.

My husband thought that this clock was a little silly and thought our son (2 1/2) would be too young for it. But we were tired of having him waking up at 5:30 pounding on his bedroom door to get out. After 2 weeks of using it he now either sleeps or plays quietly in his room until 7am when his clock lights up. He talks about it before he goes to bed how it is night when the clock is off but morning when it lights up. It was a great investment. I only wish that it had a plug in adapter because we have to change the batteries every few days (we use rechargeable) that is the only down side to this clock.

iHome iH4 Alarm Clock Speaker System with Dock for iPod (Pink)

I got this product as a Christmas gift a few years ago.

Initially, it worked great! It’s design and size are wonderful. Aesthetically speaking, it’s great.

I never mistreated it; it sat snugly on my desk and was never thrown around or tinkered with.

It wasn’t until a few months after receiving it did the problems arise. This iHome “unplugs itself”. It will turn off, on it’s own. The first few times, it was just a minor inconvenience; it’d take me a few moments to reset the clock, and I’d go on with my day. After the fiftieth or so time, I started getting fed up, and never bothered with setting the clock at all. Now, I have to bother with the dang thing for 10+ MINUTES before it will decide to work on me. Even then, after a few moments of listening to my iPod on it, it would go kaput again.

I’m sick and tired to dealing with this overpriced piece of crap. If it weren’t a Christmas gift, I would have returned it.

Don’t waste your money on this product. You will want to chuck it across the room.

Three Great Pink Alarm Clock Variations

  • December 27, 2009 at 5:47 am

If you have someone in your life who is a lover of all things pink and has almost anything you can get in pink (even hot pink office supplies), then a pink alarm clock is due to make an excellent gift for that person.

One of the great things about pink alarm clocks is that, in addition to being quite stylish and coming in a number of different shades (from bright bubblegum to delicate pastel, and everywhere in between), they also come in a lot of different configurations.

Of course, one function they all have in common is that they tell the time and have an alarm feature, but beyond that, there are some excellent other functions available in today’s pink alarm clock choices. Want to know more? Here are three great pink alarm clock variations.

  1. Pink alarm clock with radio. The clock radio is probably the most popular expansion on the standard alarm clock. This serves multiple purposes. You can use it to tell time, to set a standard beeping alarm, or to listen to the radio. You can also choose for your pink alarm clock to wake you up not with an abrasive beeping buzzer, but by playing the radio station of your choice, on the volume of your choosing.
  2. Pink alarm clock with CD player. This takes the musical enjoyment of the pink clock radio and makes it more personal. In addition to doubling as a regular CD player with built in speakers, the pink alarm clock with CD player also lets you wake to not just the CD, but the specific track of your choosing! Whatever music gets you up and rocking first thing in the morning is what you should choose; what better way to get up on the right side of the bed? plus, when the alarm clock itself is a fun shade of pink, what’s not to be happy about?
  3. Pink alarm clock with iPod/MP3 dock. Here is where music gets the most personal at all. Pink alarm clocks with iPod/MP3 functionality let you plug in your personal music player. You can wake to any of the hundreds of songs you have stored on the player, and it also doubles as a speaker for these small and often speaker-less devices. Arguably the best of all worlds, a pink alarm clock with MP3 capability is great in the morning, and all day long.

Top Pink Alarm Clock Styles

  • November 12, 2009 at 5:48 am

If you are in the market for a pink alarm clock, the good news is that there are literally dozens, if not hundreds, of different styles and models to choose from. The bad news (or at least it could seem bad if you are indecisive or like a lot of different things) is that choosing between so many different pink alarm clocks may not be the easiest choice. After all, you can do a lot of things with a pink alarm clock, and they are all interesting and useful to different people.

Here are a few of the top pink alarm clock styles and functions. These should help you get a good idea of some of your choices, and make it easier to narrow down the field when it comes to choosing the perfect pink alarm clock that’s right for you (or, if you’re shopping for gifts, the perfect alarm clock for your friend or loved one).

  • Retro-styled pink alarm clock. Several models of retro-styled pink alarm clocks are available. Of course, depending on which era they are replicating, the pink itself may not be historically accurate. But the knobs, layout, speaker style, and overall design aesthetic make a fun, playful, and interesting addition to any nightstand, worktable or bathroom counter.
  • Multi-function pink alarm clock. If you want a pink alarm clock that plays radio, CDs, or even docks and amplifies an iPod, you can find them. You can also find pink alarm clocks that feature extra loud alarms, can go in the shower, or even large wall clocks that project the time onto the wall or ceiling, you can find these. If you want your pink alarm clock to be more than a clock, you’ll have no trouble finding just about every function imaginable.
  • Pink travel alarm clock. Quite the opposite of the multi-function alarm clock, a travel alarm clock is designed to be as simple as possible, so it can be as small as possible. Pink travel alarm clocks are battery operated, come in a range of shades, and many feature a back-glow (at the light touch of a button) so you can see what time it is quickly in the middle of the night while still conserving battery life.

From complex to simple, from modern to retro, pink alarm clocks are as diverse as the people who like them. The fun part is deciding what works best for you. Happy shopping!

Interesting Features You Wouldn’t Expect From Pink Alarm Clocks

  • October 4, 2009 at 5:48 am

Pink alarm clocks might seem, from the outset, pretty straightforward. They’re just like any other alarm clock, except they look girlier, right? Not necessarily. Some of the hottest pink alarm clocks on the market have some pretty innovative (and of course interesting) functions. Here’s a run down of some of the less-traditional features you can get with a pink alarm clock, should you be interested.

  • Extra loud alarm. We’ll start with a fairly practical feature. For the less-than-easily roused, a pink alarm clock with an extra loud alarm should wake you up (or jar you awake) in no time.
  • Multi-colored display. Yes, for some, a hot pink clock is not enough. Timex makes a hot pink digital alarm clock with a multi-colored digital LED display. Each number is a different hue. How’s that for a colorful wakeup call?
  • Projection. Yes, like an old-school projector you’d find in a classroom, except with the time instead of a map of Europe. Blue Hat Toy Company makes a pink rocket ship alarm clock that projects not the time, but “huge galactic images” against a wall or ceiling. How’s that for a fun clock?
  • Metal bells. The opposite of space-age projection, you can also get an old-school pink alarm clock that wakes you with a metal hammer against two metal bells. No, this isn’t fancy, but yes it is fun. That alone merits its inclusion on this interesting features list.
  • Pig’s mouth. You’d expect to find a pink alarm clock nestled in a Hello Kitty figurine or a cute Disney Princess heart (both are real), but you might not expect a pig alarm clock—especially considering that one such model has the time displayed on an LCD panel located in the pig’s mouth (kind of like an apple, but less morbid). You can also find a pig wearing a cape and, for a different kind of alarm, a pink kitchen timer shaped and colored like a pig’s head.

These may not be quite the style you’re looking for, but it’s good to know that there is no shortage of interesting pink alarm clocks in the world.

Choosing A Pink Alarm Clock

  • September 18, 2009 at 5:49 am

You might not expect this when you begin your search, but pink alarm clocks are far more abundant than one would imagine. If you know that a pink alarm clock is what you want to buy (either for yourself or as a gift for a loved one), then picking which one to buy will be more complicated than just choosing one pink option among a sea of darker, plainer colors.

Rather, pink alarm clocks come in many shapes and sizes, in many styles, with a variety of available functions and purposes, and of course, in a few different price ranges. Here are some of the key categories of decision that you’ll need to address when picking out the ideal pink alarm clock for your needs:

  • Shape and size. The general shape and size of a pink alarm clock is a good place to start. Do you want a big bulky clock with a large, easy-to-read (even without glasses in the middle of the night) display, or a small, travel-style clock that is much more minimal?
  • Style and color. Here is where pink alarm clocks get really fun. Do you want bright neon pink? Elegant pastel pink? Maybe a nice shade of bubblegum pink somewhere in the middle? There are also many styles available, from a fully-detailed retro pink alarm clock to a sleek and simple modern one. The possibilities are endless.
  • Functions. Regular alarm clocks do some neat and fun things, so why shouldn’t pink alarm clocks have innovative functions as well? From more conventional functions (such as CD players, radios, and iPod docks) to some more interesting gimmicks (such as projecting pictures onto the ceiling or being pig-shaped and having sound effects), pink alarm clocks are just as creative and diverse as their plain-black counterparts—if not more so!
  • Price. This variation is not as exciting, but shopping for a pink alarm clock, like everything else, can run the gamut of expenses, depending on what you want to spend. From a small $10 travel clocks to very high-function, high-performance (made with quite fancy materials) pink alarm clocks that cost $400 and up, it shouldn’t be hard to find something that fits comfortably within your budget.

Great Gift Idea: The Pink Alarm Clock

  • August 3, 2009 at 5:50 am

Now, when you think about the ideal Christmas gift (or any other holiday, birthday, celebration, milestone… or even just as a nice surprise), a pink alarm clock may not be the first thing that comes to mind. But if you have the right person in your life, this can actually be a really great gift.

Why? Think about what makes an ideal gift. It of course needs to be fun and personal. Boring daily items like white socks or some other cliché bad gift make bad gifts for a reason; they’re not fun! But since pink alarm clocks are, by their very nature, fun and colorful (and because they come in some really fun styles; more on that later), they are definitely personal and fun to open.

But a good gift also needs to be something the person will use. Say the person on your gift list likes pigs. Sure, you could get them a huge pig poster, or a large stuffed pig, or a T-shirt with pigs on it. But these are, for most people, not something that they enjoy having around (or plan to keep around) too long after they open the package. But a pig-shaped pink alarm clock (yes they exist!) is a novelty gift item that actually serves a practical purpose. It’s ideal!

This holds true for all styles of pink alarm clocks. From a child’s pink rocket ship clock to a convenient small travel size alarm clock to a retro-styled faux-chrome-trimmed pink alarm clock, they all are both fun and practical.

So who would appreciate a pink alarm clock? Well, certainly, it needs to be someone who enjoys the color pink. And of course, you need to pick a shade that is appropriate to their age and style.

  • Young kids like bright colors, and some girls latch on to pink in particular, so there are a number of pink alarm clocks that are ideal for a girl’s room.
  • College students are also potentially perfect recipients of pink alarm clocks- especially ingoing freshmen who are working on decorating their dorm rooms.
  • But don’t rule out adults! Mature women with a fun, feminine sense of style, or fashionistas in their 20s and 30s will all love a pink alarm clock if you find one that really fits their aesthetic and personal taste. Plus, the are just fun!
